Moving forward

SONUS Entertainment has always had one of the most flexible and client-centric COVID-19 policies. From the beginning of the pandemic, we led the way by waiving all price increases, cancellation penalties, and rescheduling penalties for clients impacted by COVID-19. As the pandemic changes and our community is at the beginning of the end, the time has come to revise our COVID-19 policies.

We believe that these revised policies continue to lead the way in our community for being client-centric while acknowledging that most clients who are currently scheduled will be able to hold their event without great impact from the department of health restrictions. Further, when the pandemic first set in, we set a deadline for impacted clients to reschedule their events to occur within 18 months of their impacted date. At that time, we didn’t know how long the pandemic and its restrictions would last.

Our earliest impacted clients whose events were scheduled to take place in March and April 2020 are now approaching less than 6 months remaining to have their event with no penalty or loss of payments. Because of the widespread impact of the pandemic, which we could not have predicted at the time we implemented our policy, those clients are facing the challenge of re-planning their wedding in less than the time the average couple plans their wedding during one of the busiest wedding seasons in recent history.  Many couples postponed their 2020 events to 2021 and have booked venues, caterers, photographers, and other vendors, making it difficult for the clients who had the earliest postponements to secure a date that works for all of their vendors and venue. Our revised policy extends the time these couples have to celebrate their wedding. These couples are able to re-book for another 12 months as if they are a new client and transfer all payments from their postponed event to the new date – up to two and a half years from their original postponed date.

We are proud of the flexibility our policies have offered over the last 12 months, and continue to be proud of our new policies for being client-friendly and fair. We look forward to celebrating with you in 2021 and beyond.

Extending the period to reschedule events already postponed due to COVID-19

If you have already postponed your event due to COVID-19 and it has been 18 months since the originally scheduled and postponed event, we will allow you to reschedule as a new event and apply your deposit and other payments made to the new event by 12 months. The new date must be within 913 days (2.5 years) of the originally postponed date. At the time of rescheduling, you will pay a $200 non-refundable and non-transferrable rescheduling fee to lock in your new date. The rescheduling fee is applied toward your balance due.

Terms:

  1. New dates are subject to DJ and equipment availability.
  2. New dates are subject to current pricing, travel fees, and policies at the time of scheduling.
  3. The $200 non-refundable and non-transferrable rescheduling fee ensures that your event takes place on the new scheduled date. If you choose to cancel or reschedule again, this fee will be immediately forfeited and cannot be transferred to another date or refunded.
  4. Deposits are also non-refundable.
  5. If you must cancel or reschedule again after securing a new date, you will be subject to the terms in your contract regarding cancellation or rescheduling.
  6. If you do not reschedule your event within 913 days (2.5 years) of the originally postponed date, your event will be considered canceled. Your deposit will be immediately forfeited along with any non-refundable and non-transferable rescheduling fees.
    • Any excess payments will be returned no sooner than 6 months after deposit expiration.
  7. All events booked on or after 3/13/2021 will be subject to the terms outlined in the contract for rescheduling.

Rescheduling a currently scheduled event due to COVID-19

If you booked on or before 3/12/2021 and you must reschedule your event, you will be allowed to select a new date at the time of postponement. We will no longer allow clients to postpone to an unknown future date. The new date must be within 365 days (1 year) of the currently scheduled date. At the time of rescheduling, you will pay a $200 non-refundable and non-transferrable rescheduling fee to lock in your new date. The rescheduling fee is applied toward your balance due.

Terms:

  1. We must be available for the new date.
  2. All reserved equipment must also be available (photo booth, uplighting, etc).
  3. You may end up with a different DJ if your original DJ is no longer available.
  4. The venue must be the same venue as originally contracted or within our standard travel area or you may be subject to additional travel charges.
  5. The new date must be of the same pricing category as your original contract was signed for or additional fees may be charged for “upgrading” from a low-demand day to a high-demand day.
  6. Additions to the contract (services or time) are billed at current rates at the time of addition.
  7. The $200 non-refundable and non-transferrable rescheduling fee ensures that your event takes place on the new scheduled date. If you choose to cancel or reschedule again, this fee will be immediately forfeited and cannot be transferred to another date or refunded.
  8. Deposits are also non-refundable. Your deposit will be converted into credit toward a future event to be held within 365 days (1 year) of the currently scheduled date.

Canceling a currently scheduled event due to COVID-19

If you must cancel your event due to COVID-19, and you originally booked on or before 3/12/2021, you will receive a refund of all payments made except for deposits and non-refundable and non-transferrable rescheduling fees.

Terms:

  1. Your deposit will be converted into credit toward a future event to be held within 365 days (1 year) of the currently scheduled date.
  2. Refunds will be made no sooner than 6 months after the canceled date.
  3. If you do not schedule another event within 365 days of the currently scheduled date, you will lose your deposit.
  4. All non-refundable and non-transferrable rescheduling fees will be immediately forfeited and cannot be refunded or transferred to another date.
  5. You will pay a $200 non-refundable and non-transferrable rescheduling fee to book your new date and apply your deposit (for an event within 365 days of the currently scheduled date). The rescheduling fee is applied toward your balance due.
